Merging joins the pages of several PDFs into one file, in the order you choose. It’s useful when a form or email asks for a single file: certificates for a job application, scanned pages of one document, or receipts for an expense claim. After merging, you can check every page, turn sideways scans upright, remove pages you don’t need and make every page the same size, all before you download.
The merged file follows your list from top to bottom. You can still move pages around after merging.
Phone scans of ID cards and certificates often come out sideways. Select those pages and rotate them before you download.
If your files are different sizes, choose A4 or Letter under Page size. Each page is scaled to fit, centred, with a small margin.
The merged file is about as large as all your files together. If an upload limit is strict, compress scanned images first.

Yes, once your files are chosen. The page loads its PDF tool as soon as you start choosing files. After that, you can turn off your connection and still merge and edit pages.
Yes. Tick the pages you want, then use Rotate, Move to or Remove in the toolbar above them. You can also drag pages on a computer, press Alt with an arrow key, or open a page larger to zoom in, crop away margins or change it there. Cropping keeps text sharp and selectable. Page size makes every page A4 or Letter. Select Apply changes, then download the updated file. Undo changes puts everything back.
They're cleared. Your files are only held in this browser tab, so starting over, closing the tab or leaving the page removes them, and pressing Back won't bring them back. If you haven't downloaded your result yet, your browser asks before you leave.

Pages, text and images are kept exactly, and turning a page keeps its full quality. Bookmarks, and some links and form fields, may not carry over into the merged file.
